Intimate Waxing
HOT WAX
​
Sometimes referred to as hard wax. Hot wax is applied in a substantially thick layer, ensuring thorough coating of each hair. As it cools down the wax hardens which is when it is removed, without the use of a wax strip. This type of waxing is beneficial to people with sensitive skin, as it is known to be less painful. It also reduces the chance of ingrown hairs after treatment. It is not recommended for people with heat sensitive skin.
STRIP WAX

Also known as warm wax. It is applied by the warm wax being spread thinly and evenly over the skin, a paper strip is then pressed onto the wax. The strip is then pulled off in a quick movement against the direction of the hair growth removing the wax along with the hair.
This system is slightly more painful (for new clients in intimate areas) than hot wax. But with a good Therapist like we have at True Beauty, you will not feel a huge deal of pain.

EXFOLIATE SKIN
A day or two before you come for your wax, gently exfoliate with a mild scrub, brush, mitt, or loofah to remove dead skin cells that surround the hair follicles. Exfoliating helps loosen existing ingrown hairs and improves your waxing results. Just make sure to be gentle — if you scrub too hard you could irritate your skin, which isn’t ideal and could prevent you from being able to have a wax.
CLEAN SKIN
Before arriving for your waxing appointment please scrub up with a mild soap to remove any germs, sweat, oil, makeup, dirt, or other residue. Grime increases your chance of incurring infected bumps, and oily skin and hair can prevent wax from sticking.
CUT HAIR FIRST IF NECESSARY
Although your hair needs to be at least a quarter-inch to be waxed, hair that’s too long can make waxing more complicated and painful. Trim hair using a clean personal grooming tool (before attending your waxing appointment), such as an electronic trimmer or safety scissors. Be careful not to trim them too short otherwise they wont be removed with the wax.
